MARTIN ENGINEERING COMPANY
Martin Engineering Company, Springfield, Illinois, was formed on October 1, 1982, to provide quality engineering and land surveying services to governmental bodies, architectural firms, private companies and land developers. The firm engages in general engineering practice in the civil engineering field with emphasis on land surveying, land planning, site development, rural highway and urban street improvements, water and sanitary sewer main design, and traffic engineering projects. Martin Engineering Company currently has a staff of 26 people.

Mr. Martin graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1984. After seven years with Turner Construction Company in Chicago, he returned to the family business in Springfield. He has been with Martin Engineering Company since 1991 and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.
Mr. Walker graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University in 1986. Mr. Walker is a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Illinois and has been with Martin Engineering Company since 1987.
Founder: Russell W. Martin
Mr. Martin graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1961. He began working in Springfield in 1963 for Jenkins, Merchant and Nankivil, Consulting Engineers. In 1964, he worked as an Assistant City Engineer and was appointed to Acting City Engineer for the City of Springfield. From 1966 to 1973, Mr. Martin worked as an associate engineer for Collins and Rice, Inc. In 1973, he became president of Martin and Vasconcelles, Inc.. Martin Engineering Company was formed in 1982.
Since its conception, Martin Engineering Company has been involved with the design and development of numerous subdivisions in the City of Springfield and in the surrounding communities as well as municipal and state work and land surveying. Mr. Martin oversees all the operations of the firm, making Martin Engineering Company a competitive and efficient firm that produces good quality work for a reasonable fee. Mr. Martin remains active with the company as a consultant.
